About Journal:

Aims and scope
The Journal of Environmental Economics and Policy (JEEP) publishes original papers on applied environmental economics and economic evaluation of environmental policy. Our aim is to publish environmental economics research that is of high policy relevance and provides clear policy recommendations.

We encourage submissions on environmental issues relating to all economic sectors and human health and wellbeing and all economic analyses. The following are some examples:

Issues including air quality, climate change mitigation and adaptation, the energy transition, water-energy-food nexus, sustainable development and transitions, natural resources, ecosystem services, nature’s contributions to people, environment and human health, biodiversity, and wildlife and habitat management, restoration and conservation.
Economic analyses including policy appraisal & evaluation, integrated economic-ecological modelling, market and non-market valuation, , value (benefit) transfer and meta-analyses, behavioural experiments, cost-benefit analysis, natural capital accounting; all with the purpose of informing environmental policy (instrument) design, implementation and evaluation.
We encourage submissions from practitioners that fit our aims and scope as well as standard research quality criteria.

We do not publish studies that are not based on environmental economic methods and theory, limited to engineering analyses, local case studies that are not of broader relevance, theoretical analyses, or studies without clear policy relevance. All submissions should add Key Policy Highlights and should be understandable for a policy-focused audience. Highly technical details are advised to be included in the supplemental online materials.

JEEP is the official journal of the UK Network of Environmental Economists
