About Journal:

The Journal of Character Education is a leading source of cutting-edge information about character education research, theory, practice, and opinion. We define character education broadly to encompass all educational approaches designed to nurture students’ knowledge, motivation, skills, and behavior concerning all four aspects of character: moral, performance, civic, and intellectual.
Aims and scope
The Journal of Character Education publishes manuscripts that report research relevant to character education, conceptual articles and occasional opinion pieces, and book reviews that provide theoretical, historical, and philosophical perspectives in the field of character education as it is broadly defined above.

The Journal is also interested in practical articles about implementation and specific programs, and informed opinion pieces.

Research studies in character education – quantitative or qualitative reports of a character education research program, focusing on research results
Methods articles – explanation and discussion of new or unusual educational practices, and/or critique of currently used research or evaluation methods and analysis techniques
A school perspective – first-person accounts, reflections, and advice from the field on organizational management, program implementation, community involvement, lessons learned
Philosophical aspects of character theory – reflection on the discourse used in character education, definitions, assumptions, arguments; exploring the philosophical tradition from which current incarnations of character and virtue stem
Moral psychology and character development – models of character, of self, motivation, the development of reason, choice, learning, responsibility, identity formation, and healthy human development
