About Journal:
EJIM is an interdisciplinary journal which addresses all aspects of innovation management. The aim of the journal is the rapid dissemination of original, pragmatist and rigorous research in the field
Aims and scope
The European Journal of Innovation Management (EJIM) focuses on advancing research in the field of innovation management with a strong interdisciplinary approach. Its scope extends beyond the isolated examination of technology or innovation, aiming instead to explore the broader processes involved in managing innovation from inception to implementation. The journal seeks rigorous and original scholarly contributions that examine the dynamic processes through which new ideas are generated, developed within organizations, and eventually transformed into value. Research addressing the complexities of fostering creativity, managing knowledge flows, and strategically leveraging innovations—whether technological or social—at various levels (organization, industry, ecosystem) is particularly encouraged.
EJIM emphasizes that submissions should concentrate on innovation management, rather than on technology or innovation per se. Contributions should focus on the processes involved in creating, disseminating, and realizing the potential of novel ideas.
The journal particularly welcomes research that intersects innovation management with emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, Industry 5.0, public sector organizations, innovation ecosystems, sustainability, the circular economy, digital innovation, and social innovation. EJIM is open to research from organizations of all sizes, including start-ups, SMEs, and multinational corporations, as well as from business-to-consumer (B2C), business-to-business (B2B), public administration and policy-making contexts.
Manuscripts submitted to EJIM must adopt rigorous methodological approaches, clearly contribute to the advancement of the field, and develop both theoretical and practical implications.
EJIM publishes three main categories of articles:
Original research articles (quantitative or qualitative);
Book reviews or invited contributions;
Real impact articles, which aim to disseminate knowledge about the transformative impact of research findings on industry, markets, and society. These articles may also involve collaboration with practitioners from business, government, or the third sector.
The European Journal of Innovation Management (EJIM) typically does not publish the following types of submission:
Literature reviews, unless they offer a strong and original theoretical contribution.
Single case studies, unless they present radical advancements in theory or practice.
Purely conceptual papers;
Viewpoints (Covers any paper where content is dependent on the author’s opinion and interpretation. This includes journalistic and magazine-style pieces).
Technical papers (Describe and evaluates technical products, methods, processes or services);
General review.
